Uh Oh...computer parts going up? (price)

I started thinking today, computer parts are mostly of silicone are they not? Well I read a few things on google about how there is some silicone shortage (who knows how old these articles are though lol) and I started thinking....what happens to computer parts? Will companies try to find alternatives or will we all just have to accept the fact even computer parts are going up in price (like everything else).

This is sort of random or w/e, but what do you guys think'll happen?

Even if the price of silicon, lead, gold, copper, and whatever they make the PCBs out of went up by a factor of ten, I doubt it would make a noticeable increase in the price of computer parts. The actual price of the materials used in the manufacturing of the parts is probably like less than 1% of what they sell the parts for.

Na, 98% pure silicon is actually made by refining quartz. I can find that stuff in my backyard. I really don't think prices will go up too much or any at that. Quartz/Silicon is a naturally earth element. As far as the gold, lead, and copper, I really don't know. I can see why Gold would go up, but not copper or lead.
