Uh-oh, will this not work?

So my mobo for my htpc arrived today and I'm afraid I may have ordered the wrong mobo. I'm using a socket 775 p4 3.0Ghz processor but the sticker on this box says it supports FSB 800Mhz socket 775 processor. Does that mean my 3.0Ghz is not going to be compatable?

Its a foxconn 915PL7AE-8S

I can't fathom they even made a P4 that ran at 800Mhz though? Maybe the sticker is wrong.

Its 800mhz FSB, which was a pentium 4, the prescott and cedar mills both had models with an 800mhz FSB. Any idea which model ur cpu is(530,630,631, etc)?

EDIT:
Looks like it works, this is straight outta the manual:

CPU
This motherboard supports single Pentium® 4 Processor including Prescott,
Celeron D processor in an LGA775 package. It also supports Hyper-Threading
Technology and FSB Dynamic Bus Inversion (DBI).

Nevermind, just checked the processor I won and it says it is 800Mhz FSB hyperthreading so its compatable with this board. What the heck is FSB though?

No offense, but how can you have been a member of CF with over 3.5k posts and not know what a FSB is? Just curious how that is even possible...

Because I guess I had never really paid attention to that before. When I built my first computer I never even noticed that. Believe me, I dont offer help with processors to anyone ;)

Haha good to know :D

But yeah, the 800mhz FSB will work beautifully ;)

These days, 775 processors are up to 1333mhz and 1600mhz frequencies - but the i7 works on a different system entirely.

See, I learn something new every day! :D Now if this was a sound related question, I would be gravy. Processors just are not my cup of tea :)
