UIF files and 'magicdisk'

hi, i have a UIF file that I cant open.
I heard of a program called magic disk, that ive installed on my PC that is supposed to be able to open it. I know absolutely nothing about these type of files, apart from that they are something to do with virtual disks, which i know nothing about!

when i try to open the file i get the notice, windows cannot open this file because it does not know what program created it, so i browse and select magic disk from program files and nothing happens. but the program opens as an icon in my taskbar, not in a window. when i right click it gives me these options...

can anybody give me some guidance?

Are you sure the file isnt corrupt? also, try reinstalling the imaging program, it also may be corrupted.
 
I worked out how to do it now, I go to: virtual CD/DVD ROM>mount...> and then select the UIF file from my documents, it then verifies the UIF file which takes about 5 minutes, then I can use it.
