ultimate gaming rig advice/coments/etc..

actually i was planning to SLI the two 8800's im just having some touble with the mobo, lol im looking for something with atleast 3 pci-express (for physics card in the near future) and it has to be able to support upcoming processors as in 1333/1066 as my mother board shows...is there any SLI motherboard that can support DDR3 memory???

edit: o and for cases i want something that both looks good and is sturdy so if you guys can help me out with that, thank you verry much

edit2: i seem to be confused about something, does the motherboard have to be SLI (for example the 680i) or you can SLI with any mobo

The motherboard doesn't have to made by nVidia, the design is by the company and they sell the rights to companies like eVGA who then make the boards. The board needs to be SLi ready. This means an nForce chipset, Intel and ATi chipsets only support Crossfire.

Keep the motherboard you chose, it's great motherboard :)
$209.99

and I wasn't too sure about hard drives since I don't know wheter you would prefer either "lot of storage" or "speed"...

Western Digital Raptor X 150GB 10,000 RPM 16MB Cache
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136011
$174.99

(You choose how many hard drives you want :P I would suggest 3 since you will be gaming and about 1.5TB will be enough? Put these in RAID of course)
So total hard drive = $505.06

(Two) EVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3

$269.99

Creative Inspire P7800 90 Watts 7.1 Speaker
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836116153
And yes, keep the speaker once again
$86.99

Total (without CPU cooling): $3292.97

CPU Cooling:
CoolIT Eliminator TEC CPU Cooler
http://www.techmicro.com/product_p/ELIMINATOR.htm
$143.03

Of course, there are more CPU coolers out there that are under $200 (which will fit into your $3500 budget) but I just chose this since you might have a hard time building a water cooling system for a first time and you just want to build it and play CSS or whatever :P)

So finally,
Total Cost: $3436 (wow, didn't expect the price to be "exact")

I really hope that this helped! :D

ok what if the mobo has two pci-e slots and its not even made by nvidia could it still be SLI'ed?

The requirements to have a SLI Motherboard....

nForce 570 or Above North Bridge
2 x PCIe Slots
and more requirements from nVidia that I wouldn't spend my time on it :P

Just like what GCR is saying, they could be different brands (such as BFG, eVGA, Asus, XFX, ECS and so on...) but they need to be SLI Ready motherboard.
