hi guys, i have a samsung SP0822N 80gb hd...my mobo, an ASUS K8v-vm supports Ultra ATA 133, and so as my hd..the problem is when i got to BIOS my mobo only supports up to Ultra ATA 100, how do I unlock the Ultra ATA 133 support? any suggestions:)

I don't get the question. If the board only supports ATA133, then that's all you're going to get. The drive will slow down to ATA100.

yes my board supports ATA133, but checking at my bios my hd only runs at ATA 100, btw..and the options are only up to ATA 100,...as what ive read at the asus site, they intentionally lock the 133 feature but it can be unlocked using the hd's driver...

Did you alter the original post or can I not read? :P

Anyway, I'm not sure what to say. If there's something mentioned about drivers, load anything provided from Asus. But honestly, I doubt you'd see much, if any performance increase. Basically all drives are still at or under ATA100 speeds. It seems the max speed of most Samsung ATA133 drives is around 70MB/s

make sure you have a fairly new IDE cable... if your using an old one, just go buy a new rounded ide cable off newegg.
