UltraWide 21:9 Monitors

I was having a look on YouTube when I found Linus' video of the LG 34UM95 34" 21:9 monitor which has a resolution of 3440x1440 (QHD) and I was wondering what your opinions on these monitors are.

I found it quite an interesting watch. Definitely interesting seeing him having all those Word documents open side by side and seeing all of those Google Chrome tabs. For productivity these things look amazing! I can imagine owning one of these and loving using Premiere Pro on it just because of how WIDE these are!

I do think though that the vertical resolution is perhaps still a little too low. Most of the affordable 21:9 monitors are 2560x1080 - 1080 pixels seems a little too low on the horizontal resolution compared to 2560 on the vertical.

I think if these were 21:10 to give slightly more vertical resolution they'd be perfect! What do you think though? Linus reckons that 4K isn't going to be 'the next big thing' and 21:9 will be.
 
I looked at the video and it was compelling. Had to convince the GF i wasn't going to buy three (yet). IPS, 60Hz, nice size, good monitor. I was going to get 4K, but to get the surround i would need quad SLI, and more VRAM. I think this will do me.

Haha nice! I was very impressed by the multi-tasking capabilities of the monitor with it being so wide. It would rock for Premiere Pro being so wide (see a lot of the video timeline) and obviously copying documents and so on.

Funny how you say you said you wouldn't buy 3 - the first thing I said as I saw the video was 'I'll take 3!' ;)

Shoosh!!! Of course im going to get three!!! Just cant tell the GF yet! HAHAHAH

As soon as the 880GTX with 12GB VRAM comes out ill run SLI those puppies and 3 of those monitors!!!! BF5 will be epic!

Not really sure what that means, but wouldn't you?

Originally i was going to get 3 x 4K monitors, but after seeing these, i don't think its worth it. So, ill get one, see how i like it and then probably go the three given the nice thin bezel.

I mainly play TF2, L4D2, and Age of Empires II HD, so not very demanding games, at the moment I tend to max out at the Source limited 299 FPS mark.

I have tons of newer games, I just never found them as fun as the classics.

Bringing this alive again, Oke how are you finding your LG 21:9? :)

I assume you have it now? Or a couple of them? ;)
