Unable to install Nero7

hey, i tried to install nero7 on my windows XP SP2 but it says in the end of the whole process

"Could not open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\run. Verify that you have the sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."

Man help me.....What is the reason behin this and what should i do?
 
thanks for your help patrickv but my problem is still unsolved. i feel like some trojan has denied my access to that particular key as i was not allowed to get into it...
 
yes i am the admin.....but now i've formatted and installed XP SP2 64-bit. Now there's another problem. Whenever i install my Nero7 it does not create any Start Menu groups, nor desktop or quick launch icons. and when i open the startsmart file it only shows Favorites option. I have to start nero from the core folder.........How do i correct this now?
