I am trying to uninstall FREE AVG from my computer. I go to CONTROL PANEL and then ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and it goes through the motion but does not remove it from the list. I have also manually deleted it from C drive. How can I get this off my computer?

First grab a freeware know as RegCleaner found at http://www.dewassoc.com/support/useful/regcleaner.htm Once you have that installed the next step before running it is to open the AVG icon found in the system tray by right clicking on that and shutting it down. Once that is done open the RegCleaner and look in the opening window for two Grisoft items and place a check mark next to those and click the remove button at the bottom right. From there simply delete the AVG folder in Program Files.

I tried ragcleaner and it got one of them off but will not get the second one off. I keep having a error screen pop up that says "The AVG7 lic is not valid"
Yall have anymore suggestions!!!!

If you removed the Grisoft folder the only thing left to look at in the "DocumentsandSettings\user name\Application Data" folder for the folder seen there. You will also have to look in the processes section of the task manager to see if there any processes lingering. Also look in the Programs menu for the Startup group there.

Now that the registry keys are removed the startup group probably still has a folder there. This is also a good time to run the registry cleanup option seen in "tools" on the menu bar. That will bring up another menu where you simply click on the "do them all" option seen there to run the automatic cleaner. If these still don't get everything then reinstalling and later removing a fresh copy should see that removed.
