Underclocking Stability

If I buy a dual core cpu (probably the X2 6400+), for overclocking, will i be able to underclock (probably about 2.6ghz) effectively?
I may get the 5400+ BE, with the unlocked multiplier....

Anyway... question is, will underclocking have any stability effects?
Sometimes i'm on my comp for internet and stuff, other times for en/coding, games, etc...

You should be fine. There is no reason to underclock though. Just use AMD's cool n' quite and you should be good to go.

yep. underclocks it like intels eist. when your cpu isn't being used much it underclocks and when you start using more of it, it speeds back up.
