thats all well and good, but that means that whenever you want to play a game or other 3D graphics program, your going to need to change the frequencies.jancz3rt said:Guys, Praetor and others are doing this to have as cool a computer as possible. At such low frequencies, the card remains cool and handles 2D perfectly fine.

It runs 275/1250 (stock) in 2D mode. Now I dont need to run 5 trillion ghz for 2D mode.... I'm just looking to drop the idle temops for the card (that and i paid nowhere near $450 for the card... closer to $300CAD but your point was understood)can i ask why you are forcing it to run at such low speeds. I would hve thought the whole point of spending $450 on a gfx card was to run at high speeds, no??
No it doesnt. The NV4x and G7x have indepdent 2D and 3D clocks (cant remember about anything before been a long time)thats all well and good, but that means that whenever you want to play a game or other 3D graphics program, your going to need to change the frequencies.
Hehe for you ill quote the room tempBTW, whats the temps now at those speeds?
i had the same problem trying to get my 3,7 cput under 1,5 ghz
