Underclocking?

My Video Card should have 475 MHz, but is showing up as VGA Core Clock 275.4 MHz. Why?!

Also, my monitor says
Monitor 1/1
Name Plug and Play Monitor
Manufacturer (Standard monitor types)
Max Width 1600 px
Max Height 1200 px

Yet that's not the actual max. Any idea? Also.. anyone know how to check my RAM timings? Btw,this is all coming from Futuremark SystemInfo.

its a power saving feature of the card... when you're in 2D mode (ie not playing games) the card underclocks itself to save power and reduce heat output

Ahh ok, thanks. Any idea what the deal with the monitor is?

well the utility you're using is reading what the driver is capable of not the monitor... however i think that windows should detect the actual capabilities of the monitor when you adjust it... it might be worth seeing if your monitor is listed in the windows drivers

Take a look at the 'How do I find this information' section of Questions 101. CPUZ is a good program for this.
