unexplainable heat

Well, okay, so it is explainable. I've overclocked my 4600+ to 2.65ghz and it's running at 1.5v. I had it at 1.57v before and when playing a game for a while it heated up to 66 degrees. Now it does, still. The thing is is that only one processor works, somehow something got damaged and now it's only one core. I don't get why the cooling can't handle the overclock, especially minus one core. Any suggestions?

Presumably the working core is now having to work harder. You are not going to get twice the cooling effect on that core just because the other one is not working. The available cooling to that core will be almost unchanged - same footprint area touching the cooler; slightly better heat dissipation on the fan/cooler side.

You could try overclocking it higher now, since one core's dead, lol. You also might want to try setting it back to stock to see if the core comes back, if you haven't already.
