Unistalling W7 32 and Installing W7 64

Hello,

Small problem. But ill get right to it.

I had a friend install windows 7 32 bit a while ago when i was building my computer. (of course ive Lost my product key. And now since then, ive cleaning my hard drive and no since i dont have the 32 bit prodcut key i dont have a way up reinstalling after 30 days.

Fast forward 24 days, and thats what im at right now. I have bought windows 7 64 bit through my university and i DO have the product key for this one.

I'm not sure how to first, uninstall my windows 7, 32 bit which has another 6 days left on it. Then, install the windows 7 64 bit i just purchased.

IF anyone has a step by step method they could tell me, it would be GREATLY APPRICIATED!!!

You don't need to uninstall x32 first. Simply make sure your BIOS is set to boot to CD first, pop it in, and follow the directions. The same way you did when you installed the x32 version.

The only difference is that you'll want to be sure to format your hard drive when it asks you which partition to install it too, because your first install is occupying it.

Be sure to back up any data you'd like to keep, first.
 
You do not have to uninstall anything.
Just boot from the Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit DVD-ROM disk.When you get to the section with the partitions,delete them all and then be sure that the UNPARTITIONED SPACE is selected and then click NEXT.That's it.

Just be sure that you back up any important data you may have before you perform what I said above.

Since your going from 32 bit to 64 bit I am pretty sure you could even do the upgrade feature since you are going to a more advance OS technically. That way you do not have to delete a think.

You can't do an upgrade install from 32-bit to 64-bit. He has to do a clean install.

Have you installed Windows on a computer before? If so it's the same as every other time you've done it; back up any data you need (pics, music, docs, etc.), boot to the CD, format the drive, and install. After it's done install all necessary drivers and programs, and you're done.

You state that you've installed Windows before. Just do the same thing.

Well, if i knew how to do it before, i would do it again lol.

So no, i haven't done it before. That would be why i'm asking how to do so...lol
