Unknown processes that cant be terminated

I recently bought a com that has Vista Ultimate in it. I've been having problems since the first day. Sometimes, when I end processes such as internet explorer or windows media player, the com would really slow down. My mouse would not move smoothly, i would be unable to properly play an audio file as there would be a sound lag. The whole com would take ages to do a simple task. I check the task manager and found out that the process that i just ended was still running but its description is blank. if I run internet explorer, the CPU usage would shoot up from an average of 20% to a range of 50% to 70%. Also, when i try to terminate the process, an error pop up saying that I dont have the permission to end the process. I've scanned the computer for spyware and viruses with Spybot. AdAware and AVG. The problem still occur. So far, these unknown processes are created when I end internet explorer, windows media player and limewire. (please click on the links below to see screen shots of the task manager).

That's iexplore.exe, it's Internet Explorer running process. I have no idea why the source of the process is unknown, but something's just not right here.

I'll just wait if anyone has an idea, before I continue with my ideas. Which are, a bit , extreme.
