Unlocker 1.6.1?

Hi
I have been away for 2 months and upon arrival i found my computer
not working. When i power it up it doesn´t load any of the programs
that were supposed to be loaded on start up and 2 message boxes pop
up from Unlocker 1.6.1 saying "No locking handle found". I can see
the icons of the programs on the desktop but without images. Any
program(uninstal, virus scanner, etc.) i try to start pops up the
same massage including regedit or the "Add or Remove programs".
Tried everything with "Safe mode" but it doesn´t change a thing.

Can anybody please help in this matter as i have some very important
stuff on there?

Thank you in advance.
Bernard

I can´t even enter the DOS window through command.com.
It gives me the "Windows cannot open this file" pop up and the usual options like searching on the net or choosing a program from a list.

Did that with "safe mode command line" but i don´t know how to save it and when i restart the problem remains.

try this;

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. Type "command.com" , and then press Enter. (A DOS window opens.)

3. Type the following:

"cd\"

"cd \windows"

Press Enter after typing each one.

4. Type copy "regedit.exe regedit.com" and then press Enter.

5. Type "start regedit.com" and then press Enter.

6. Navigate to and select the key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command

7. In the right pane, double-click the (Default) value.

8. Delete the current value data, and then type:

"%1" %*

Tip: Type the characters: quote-percent-one-quote-space-percent-asterisk.

9. Close Regedit utility.

Note: If you are using Windows XP and you enable "System Restore" , you need to
disable "System Restore" in "Safe Mode" before using the instructions above.

i´m on another machine.

command.com gives me: "Windows cannot open this file" pop up

and when i access the registry through safe mode with command line i don´t know how to save the changes.

when in the registry go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command and open the default value on the right, now in there type "%1" %* and press ok, now close Regedit and restart.

Instead of running "command.com" from the Run menu in windows, you can also type "cmd"

Yeah, but it doesn´t change a thing.

It´s either a softwareproblem connected to Unlocker or one of those scans where they destroy all your files and demand money to restore them.

Guess i will finlly try windows 64 if everything fails.

Forgive me if I am too inexperienced to know this won't work....
If it is spyware/virus, would it help to physically remove the HDD and connect as a slave in another PC. Then you could at least scan that HDD for problem .exe's even if you can't make registry changes.
