i heard unlocking a multiplier on fx series aloows them to perform almost twice better than its original speed....

anyone ever oc'ed fx series and found out about them?

what is it really mean by unlocking...

the entire FX range from AMD does have unlocked multipliers.

(multiplier) x (FSB) = CORE CLOCK SPEED (Mhz)

As you can imagine, if you increase the multiplier then your clock spee is going to be greatly increased. This is a VERY easy way to overclock. On ALL other CPU's the multiplier is LOCKED, apart from on selected models where you can put it DOWN a notch or two, but not UP

Upwards unlocked multipliers are only featured on the AMD FX series cpu.
