i have a laptop that i gave a friend to use, she installed some smiy faces and the computer froze and she tried to restarted it and i start getting a blue screen with the error "unmountable_boot_volume" i tried fixing it but i can't boot my computer from a CD, i tried changing the BIOS to make the computer run from a CD first but still i can't access the cd and i keep getting the screen that tells me do i want to run the computer in safe mode or safe mode with netwerking...ect.

would any one tell me how can i fix this problem

Thanks

Is the CD in the drive bootable? As for the BSOD, sounds like ntoskrnl.exe (the boot screen executable which loads the kernel and explorer) was corrupted, which requires a reformat.

i had the same exact thing in my GX110, the problem was RAM.
Hmm, that's an intresting one, well, as I've always said, many of the Windows errors don't actually make sense to what the problem/cause is.

yeahh, that was my problem, 1st i thought it was the HD, i tryed 3, and i knew everyone wasnt shot, soo then i thought it was the mobo, and CPU, then i took out my Compaq 128MB module i had in there, and swapped it with another, and it worked. i had like pausing before this happened also.
