Upcoming notebook technologies?

i'm planning on buying a new notebook, but i can't make up my mind to do it either right now or in the late summer (say august or something).

I'll just use this notebook very intensively (running multiple virtual machines) for the next couple of weeks. Then it'll be just some office, internet and casual gaming maybe. But i'll really need one for the next year. This one is just getting plain old (1.7ghz pentium M, 1gb 400mhz ram, 15,4inch screen, 4200rpm 80gb hard drive).

obviously the notebook i would buy right now would be cheaper by then. But will there be any substantial new technologies? like a new cpu model, or a new mobo line. I usually keep track of all these things but lately i've been a little busy (moved out of my parents house, starting my own business, having my girlfriend in my neck 24/7 in my new house :P).

So in short: are there any new things coming for notebooks untill august?

Hardware technology moving very fast nowadays. New CPU come out every 3 months, and once the newer model being released, the older one will drop price.

So, buy new when you need it.

take whatever u see in the market now, slightly improve it and drop the previous model by 100$
if anything would become new that i could consider sinifigant it would be sooner or later there gonig to put lights behind the keyboards like on a mac on PC style laptops, other then that nothing, but i doubt it would come out in the next 3 months.

while we're at it could any of you rate my notebook. This is what i'm looking at right now:
XXODD XNi8227d 17inch

Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2,50GHz, 800MHz, 6MB)
4GB DDR2 667MHz geheugen (2x 2GBdual channel)
200GB SATA harde schijf 7200RPM
DVD-CD +/- brander
1GB Intel Turbo Memory module
3 jaar pick up & return garantie

€1.325,00

Don't try and lookup the brand, it's a small Netherlands based computer manufacturer (was named promedion first). It's decent and i've heard good stories about the service and the quality of their products.

i dont really know the conversion rate on the euro... so i dont know how it is for bang for the buck, but it looks like a mighty machine.... what graphics card is in it?

if i'm correct it's about 1500 or 1600 in us dollars give or take a few hundred :P
but i forgot to mention sorry, it has the 8600gt.
i'll be doing gaming mostly on my desktop and not my notebook so it's plenty for me

If so ever look at a macbook or maybe macbook pro. ''Waits for someones to say get a dell because of coupons'' If your doing media work get a macbook/pro dont listen to dell as honestly they are made for big TAX businesses.

Edit: Now that I re-read it check out acer or dell. You dont seem to do media or entertaiment.

no i don't really media isn't my thing.
but i'm no big fan of both, ugly looking notebooks.
acer feels to cheap for me. to much plastic.

the only thing i could possibly want more in this laptop is an extra ssd.
