Update Bios

Okay, I have an overclocking problem, it doesnt work. There is a Bios update for overclocking with this processor, however it is not the latest update. First i want to know if the latest update includes everything from the previous updates. second, does can anyone give me instructions on how to properly update my bios? all i get is this screen with stuff but i have no idea wut to do. Thanks

For updating the bios the board's manual will have instructions on that. On most newer models by Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, and others you will often find a Winflash type of update where you simply download and double click on it later to perform the flash while still in Windows. That only takes a few seconds instead of preparing a boot floppy to do it manually from a dos type prompt. There you have to enter the exact information or ... ! ! !!!

Have you noticed an improvement since you ran the update? That should help clear up any problems. The latest versions after a board has been out for a period of time will generally one or more fixes for known problems.

no i havent. i still cant overclock and my mobo seems to be defective:

it lags when i multitask. like media player, aim, internet explorer and other stuff all at the same time and the proformance is slower than usual. when i had an asus board the samething happened, i sent it in, they gave me a new one and it worked perfect.

You should see what happens when I burn a dvd. It takes about 5min. to change a web page at times depending on how far into the burn. Yet everything bounces right back afterwards. Just what are you trying to oc? The memory, cpu, video card? Sometimes you have to lower one thing first like the memory timings to bring up the multiplier. With some hardwares you have to tweak things slowly at first to see what each is capable of.
