Update USB 1.0 to 2.0

I installed XP on my computer that already had Vista on. The thing now is every time I plug something in the USB port I get the message that this device would work faster if it would be USB 2.0

How can I update both USB cards on my computer?

were they 2.0 before? If they are 2.0, then you need to either update or reinstall your chipset driver. That is what did it for me on a Hp running 2.0 on a SB870Gnm chipset.

Yes they were 2.0 before installing XP You know where I could find the chipset driver?

under chipset. This is a vista driver though. You will need an XP driver.

is what Intel list for the chipset you have (945GC).

OK I installed the driver. How do I know that all the ports are 2.0?

to be honest, I am not sure. Testing with a USB benchmark program would be the only way I know of.

In Device manager under your USB controllers it will have a listing as Standard Enhanced.

All you need to do is install SP3 and it will install the usb 2.0 driver, should anyway.

I think I got it I red that in the device manager if it says "Enhanced" in means it's USB 2.0 The thing is the front USB card seems to be USB 1 still!!!

Yeah, its very possible that on some of the older case that the case usb ports were only version 1.1.
