Updates Disabled by Administrator

I'm using Google Chrome with Win 7 and noticed that I am not able to update Chrome. If I want the latest version I have to uninstall it and install the newer version. The message I get is "Updates are disabled by the administrator". I am the administrator (this is my home computer) and I cannot find where I supposedly made that decision. Fixes for this on Chrome help talks about something in the registry. I've already learned NOT to touch that unless an expert is walking me through it. There has to be some easy fix. Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
Step 01. Go to Windows Start Button on the left bottom and Click on Run.
Step 02. type in regedit right click and run as administrator.
Step 03. go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Update
Step 04. Double Click on the UpdateDefault
Step 05. Change the value from 0 to 1.
Step 06. Restart your Chrome Browser and try to update again.

I changed step number 2.
