Updating Bios needed?

Is it realy neccesary to upgrade my Gts BIOS?

I dont have any issues with the card at all,but im thinking that if i do update the bios it might enhance the performance?

Apparently these are the Bios updates for my card.

1) EN8800(G92) VGA BIOS update package: EN8800GT/HTDP/512M/A(P393) 62.92.5E.00.AS02 EN8800GT/HTDP/256M/A (P393) 62.92.5E.00.AS03 EN8800GT
Fix-Fix the compatible problem with certain high-end Sony LCD monitors.
Usage:

2)update BIOS of EN8800GT/G/HTDP/512M [V62.92.12.00.AS05] to [V62.92.12.00.AS01]
Fix - Enhance the performance of running certain benchmarks

Should i and how safe is doing this?

Theres other updates aswell...six in total but they appear to just fix screen problems which im not having any so.....should i do fix 2?

i have updated my motherboards bios before but im not sure how diffrent doing a GFX bios is?

I actually have a similar question, not to hijack the thread. Just found the Akimbo cooler online for my 8800GT (FINALLY!) I heard somewhere that you need to update the video card BIOS when installing the new fan, since it has a 4-pin connector or whatnot. Would this work, I'm installing the EVGA Akimbo fan on my Zotac card. Thanks and sorry!
