Updating Router Software

I found out that there is an updated software version for my router. I am wondering if I should go ahead with the update. Not concerned about security nor am I have problems. Was wondering if I should look at this the same as an update to the BIOS; "if it ain't broke; don't mess with it". Thanks
 
There should be a changelog that indicates what the update impacts.

Most of the time you'd want the latest since a lot of them contain security fixes.
 
What router do you have? Normally, you would update the firmware as most updates are for security purposes.
 
I have the ASUS RT-N66U. I went ahead and updated, based on the response from beers. No issues, everything worked fine. Thanks
