Upgarde to Win8

So the fact that I've played around with Win8 on my new laptop has given me the need to upgrade my desktop running Win7 :).

I have an upgrade CD and just like I said in another thread (here), I think I have a key for Win8. If I don't I'll just call Microsoft I guess.

What I need to do first is play it safe. What do I need to do so that I can roll back to Win7 in case of a problem? I don't have any install CD of Win7 though but I do have the key on the side of the desktop.
 
If using the upgrade cd, then you will have the option to uninstall 8 in add/remove programs. If by chance the reversal doesn't work you can always download the windows 7 iso and create an install cd.
 
Thanks for the help John, went through the upgrade, everything worked fine. Well Win8 pro wasn't stable at all at first but updates after updates it all got better and Win8.1 Pro is working perfectly.
I also had to call Microsoft and it was easy as writing numbers in boxes.
