Hi

I have been using my existing laptop for more than 5 years. Still functioning well but not to the optimal level perhaps due to system specificaations? or due to malware or software not performing to the optimal level.

Should I upgrade the software completely? ie. purchase the latest version of the Windows Operating System and the Ms Office version and reinstall them to the laptop?

or should I purchase a brand new laptop completely?

Which option is more economical and advisable?

Thanks. :)

My laptop specs are as follows:

Brand: probook 4310s,
Processor: Intel Core 2 Dual CPU, T6670 @ 2.2 GHz
RAM 2 GB, 32-bit operating system,
Windows 7 version,
Display Adaptor ATI Radeon HD 4300
Battery: Faulty thus using cable power supply

What is your perception of "optimal level"?

It'd probably show a marked improvement increasing RAM and a fresh installation of your existing OS.

I would upgrade.
Once your GPU is filed under Legacy with AMD/NVIDIA, it's time to upgrade :p
