Upgrade from Win 7 32 bit to 64 bit.. need help please

Hi,
Im building a new computer but using the hdd from my old computer. Currently that hdd has Windows 7 32 bit on it. I was wondering if i could use the same install discs that i used to install 32bit, but instead install 64bit. Would i have to buy another Windows 7 installation disc?
If you have any other advice that might help me, i would love it, thank you

I have already used all 3 installations that were on the discs.
Im going to have 8gb Corsair XMS3 RAM in my new computer, so this is the main reason why im asking everyone about the upgrade.
 
You might find that you'll need to purchase a new licence of 7, for 2 reasons really. Firstly you've already used the other disk 3 times, which tends to be the limit for any Windows based installation. Secondly, most commonly, the 32 bit and 64 bit versions are supplied on separate disks, so the version you have obtained will only be for 32-bit. Hope this helps

As long as you haven't installed the license on more than three machines (this one you are talking about is one of the three and it can be reinstalled no problem) then you can use the same license. You'll just need a 64-bit Windows 7 disc.
 
So since i've used all 3 installs... i guess im SOL... :(.. are you sure that if i have the same IP that i won't be able to upgrade it using the same discs?
 
its not isolated to ip. Its hardware ordinate d. Motherboard and video card will shut it down. A new build completely will require new. I have changed a video card and called and explained. Fixed it. new key i think. Mine is windows 7 pro. came with 64 and 32. Its a retail though.

If this machine is one of those three, you CAN reinstall without a problem.
 
sorry bout that voyager... was in a rush while reading it... But, if i reinstall 64bit, will it wipe my hdd? (im guessing not) but just want to make sure, i have everything backed up so its not a problem if it does.
any other details?

Well, technically you don't have to wipe the drive, but I would. If you don't wipe it, it'll save the old windows folder on the drive and name it "windows.old". Don't believe it would save user data (documents, music, etc.)

umm... new problem.. on my new computer right now.. and when i put the windows 7 64bit disc in.. it says that i cannot run this program because its not compatible with my system (obviously)..
any ideas?
please can anyone help?
