Most likely it will cost an arm and a leg to do or not possible at all. Ask Gateway or computer tech.

yes, simply buy more Ghz!

lol, joking aside, with laptops what you buy is generally going to be what you end up with. You CAN upgrade ram, cpu, hdd and maybe a few other things, but generally this is only for the very experienced and you should probably just stick with what your laptop has in it.

Some laptops have the CPU integrated into the motherboard. Some need a bigger cooler.

Better off with just buying a whole new lappy.

Please dont Double Post, you have already made a post exactly the same as this one!

upgrade Ghz.........possible?

i say this because its annoying, and i have also made a comprehensive post about it.

i really dont see the point of making a thread, have people give valid comments, then totally ignore it and create a whole new thread that is EXACTLY the same.

thanks

Dave.

Sounds like you have one of the newer line of processors, either a 1.67GHz Celeron M, Pentium Dual-Core, or Core (2) Duo. If that is the case, then they do not make 2.8GHz models of those processors, except for the Core 2 Duo X7900 which cost several times more then your laptop itself.

Point is, the GHz rating scheme doesn't allow you to compare newer and older processor series. So your 1.67GHz processor may be faster then a 2.8GHz older style Pentium 4.
