ok, so here's my system specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.4Ghz

RAM: 512MB PC2-5300

Mobo: MSI K9NU Neo

Graphics Card: NVIDIA NX7300LE (256MB)

HDD: 320GB SATA

Would gaming framerates improve more from a graphics card upgrade or from a cpu/ram upgrade?

I'd say graphics but your lack of ram and an old cpu will hinder things. I don't know your budget but if you shop around you might be able to upgrade all 3 for a reasonable price.

You don't need to change everything. Get a video card such as the 8800GS, HD3850, 9600GT, HD3870 or the 8800GTS (G92) and a 1GB of RAM and you're set. If you feel you need more power, upgrade your CPU to an X2. ;)

Or, you may save a bit more and get a whole new upgrade (mobo/cpu/ram) which would be much better.

I'd go with that option. Put together an Intel build with some DDR2 800 RAM. Otherwise, a new GPU would be bottlenecked by your current configuration.

Tell me! Not long ago, I had my HD3870 running in pair with some 400MHz RAM! :P
