Upgrade Help

I am recently getting a used HP Pavilion ZE5385US Laptop. Im guessing it uses the Prescott pentium 4; the desktop version made mobile somehow. I know now after some looking that I cant slap a core duo or even a pentium m as it wont work with the mobo, but would a pentium 4 HT with the same socket (478) work with my mobo? Would the P4 stock heatsink work well enough to keep an desktop HT cool (or even fit?)? Is it even worth it? I'm trying to keep a sub 200$ upgrade on this thing, and I can find good deals on eBay for the processor. Here are the upgrades so far:

HITACHI Travelstar 7K60 HTS726060M9AT00 (08K0939) 60GB 7200 RPM ATA-6 Notebook Hard Drive - OEM from Newegg @ 94.99 (its the same capacity of the old hd, but it is 1800 RPM's faster, so is it worth it?)

a 1 GB stick of pc2100 notebook @ $50 or so

then the processor.

-looking to use for mainly office apps and games like civ4, galciv2, maybe battlefield 2 if i can get an upgraded processor. Any help is appreciated

Also, I have another question. The official specs say the max amount of ram is 1 GB through two slots. However, I can find 1 gb pc2100, and two of those is two gigs. Would it only recognize one? Also, if i can use HT on my mobo, i was gonna bid on this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-Pentium-4-Mobile-3-06GHz-1MB-cache-533MHz-FSB-478_W0QQitemZ6891696867QQihZ013QQcategoryZ86716QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I could probably buy for around $70, seeing as this item will probabaly go unbidded. Any feedback is appreciated:D

as long as the CPU uses the same socket as the mobo then yes it should work. and, if the mobo only supports one gig then only put one gig in it, no point in wasting money.

That cpu should be fine as mobile pentium 4's used 533Mhz FSB. That chip is quite hellfire but heats up alot. Watch that your laptop is made for such an extreme chip.

the laptop is hot as hell already with the 2.6 pentium 4 mobile chip in it, and with the new hd it wont be much better:) . Ill probably end up buying a chill pad or something. So, the centrino chip is socket 478 and has a 533 MHz FSB as well so it should work right? also,, it is helluva lot cheaper, but will it perform better? I definentally know it will run a lot cooler though. Plus considering the fact that im not sure the mobo supports HT it might be better to go that route anyway. Thanks for the help.

I have figured out after contaction hp through online chat that my mobo does not support HT or any processor besides a mobile p4. Also learned that it maxes at 1 gb and a 5400 rpm hard drive. ONLY TRUST THE MANUFACTURER, lol. I could have paid 100 bucks for a new cpu and it woulda never worked if i listened to u guys! thanks anyway
