Upgrade Monitor and Graphics Card

I have the following:

HP dc5000 Desktop w/ Windows XP computer with onboad video.
Currently have 20" NEC monitor.

I now have a new Acer 22" Widescreen monitor and NVIDIA GeoForce 7800 Graphics card.

I will be using BOTH monitors on the same graphic card. However, the old (NEC) monitor will be secondary and the new (Acer) will be the primary monitor.

I know I need to disable the onboard video prior to installing the video card. However, I wanted to know if there is a particular order to install these two new components along with my old monitor? Should I hook up the new (Acer) monitor first and install it's drivers just to make sure it works and then install the graphics card along with the old (NEC) monitor? Or should I install the graphics card first and then the new (Acer) monitor and then the old (NEC monitor thereafter?

Thanks.
