hey..
i got an intel p4 2.8Ghz ..
i would like to go for smth newer/faster/better...
i use the pc for lotz of gaming.. and some video editing..
i was thinking to go for amd dual-core or smth ? :/ i dont know much so here is what i need your help with :)
i have around 300 euros now.. i may go to around 400 anw..
**i found those 2 in a store here.. AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+* (2.2GHz) 939pin Retail..
and
**AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4200+* (2.2GHz) Retail AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4200+* (2.2GHz) Retail. <-- this is expensive tho :(

ok i am w8ing for your suggestions

really ? thats a nice cpu ? will it be much difference from the one i have now ? coz i dont know much about amd and i see that (2.2GHz) there and trying to compare it to my intel 2.8ghz how much is it ? lets say in "intel" :D

dont compare chips based on clock speeds (not intel v amd anyway)
The 4200 is a good chip, but maybe too expensive for your budget. Consider amds entry level dual core the 3800 X2. Good dual core chip.

Any reason for the upgrade is the 2.8 not doing something you want it too?

Yes, for better gaming performance you should replace that old 5700 with a better card. It's bottlenecking your system.

hehe, you saw where i was going

i upgraded my gfx card to a radeon 9800se 256mb .. so now i whant a cpu upgrade... is the first one i posted any worth the upgrade ? i mostly do gaming.. and i most play not that demanding games...

sound to me like you dont need an upgrade at all, what do you mean non demanding games. No point in wasting your cash on something your never gonna see the benefit of

i play counter strike[1.6] that can be played pretty much on every gfx card... but i whant a Faster pc.. as i said i am doing some video/photo editing too.. and all those stuff.. and i may move to better graphical games too.. so i would like a Faster pc.. a better cpu . not another gfx card upgrade for now :D
