Upgrade my Laptop

I've Had my laptop for about 4 years now (specs below).
I have recently installed Vista taking up 60gb of my hdd.
I have been looking to upgrade my system for a while but never doing this before I'm after some advice on some decent equipment.
While I do alot of work online I also burn alot of CD's and DVD's I also like the C&C series of games. Any help on some products and install advice would be great.

Right now, i dont think u can beat the deal from HP.

the HP dv6500t custom built from the HP site maxed out is 1300 bucks

you get:
HP dv6500t (15" at 1280 x 800 resolution)

Core 2 Duo T7700 (2.4ghz) < which powns
5.4k 250GB!
2GB DDR2 667
Nvidia 8400M GS

normally the 8400m gs would be a little weak for some people. but for C&C type games, it should work very well.
 
laptops are not generally upgradeable... other than the RAM...
people usually just buy another one if their laptops are outdated...

not sure if I am answering your question but if you want to buy a new one,
Boomer's suggestion looks like a good deal... or you can modify it to get a better GFX...
