Upgrade plans!

I got a decent job for the summer so i am thinking about upgrading my system during the summer at some point because it is cumming up on 3 years old. I just need a bit of help planning out my attack. First off here is my current setup:

CPU - Intel i5 2500k (sandy bridge)
Mother Board - Msi z68 gd80
RAM - Replacing
GPU - gtx 660 (warranty replacement for my old 580 and it is pretty awful)
Display - Asus 23.5 1080p

Here is what i am thinking about getting once the new series comes out and the prices on the 7xx series come down.

CPU - Intel 4670k
Mother Board - MSI z87 g45
GPU - EVGA gtx 770 ***X2***
Display- ?????HELP?????

Does this seem like a good idea? Also, i am not sure what to do about my display. Should i get a high resolution display or just stick to the one i have? Advice will be greatly appreciated.

I have the i5-2500k and its still really good, it's not that worth it to pay about 300 for a new mobo and CPU when your only going to see a minimal difference. So keep the 2500k and the z68.

Sooo, now that we've cleared up about $300, you should probably throw in an SSD if you don't have one. For your monitor, I don't think 1440p is worth it b/c it cost like 300+ and that's downright ridiculous. What I'd do is get a second 1080p monitor (but only if you like dual screens) and a beefier GPU. And then just make sure you have a good enough PSU.

Thanks for the advice on the CPU, i was wondering exactly that. I am thinking maybe it would be a better idea to go with a 780ti, some new RAM and maybe a second monitor.
