My current system is a AMD Athlon Xp 1800+ 120GB and 200GB hdd 768MB ram Geforce FX5500 256MB video
Windows vista home premium

would It be better to get more ram 1gb more or get a new processor and mobo and no ram?

Out of the options there, get another graphics card, to be honest, it's the worst part of your computer.

Agreed... if hes into small gaming hes fine. you can overclock you CPU to get faster, or just upgrade RAM. ram makes difference...

hmmm 3 different forums 3 different opinions, I posted in 3 different forums to see if they all say something similar but other people say upgrading ram is useless for me. I do some gaming like gta sa, doom 3, halo, nfs most wanted etc. I dont think i am going to get a completly new pc because everything except the cpu mobo and gpu are within a year old so it would be a waste.

and how is the performance of your comp on those games?

if it is still holding on and you don't really plan on playing all the recent games, then you should upgrade in this order: RAM, CPU and then GPU

depending on your budget, you could even change all three of them :D

they are noticably slower than in xp would this be because vista is using more ram, also sometimes when i am browsing the internet with a bunch of sites opened and listening to music, the music will glitch a little bit.

yes... this lag is because Vista uses more RAM space than XP especially if you turn on all the eye-candy like Aero...
