Upgrade to Win 7 RC - what do i do when officialy released

hello all

i am considering upgrading my vista to the RC of win7 instead of having 2 seperate OSs. but that will only work for a few months. what do i do when my pre-ordered copy of 7 comes in the mail in october? do i just enter the new licence key, do i roll vista back then re-upgrade or do i install it as an "upgrade" over the RC

You can install it as an upgrade over the RC. The RC will expire next year around this time - So you have time.

No you can't.

If you are running the Windows 7 Release Candidate.......
you will not be able to do an upgrade installation,
in which your existing programs and data are left in place.

Instead, you'll have to do what Microsoft calls a custom installation.

Info about the Release Candidate:

The RC will expire on June 1, 2010.
Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours.
Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start.

yea...i dont want to have to reinstall all the programs. ill just gut out vista for a few more months.

I disliked vista a lot. a whole lot.

I like windows 7 so much this will likely be the first microsoft product I buy that isn't bundled with a prebuilt computer.
