Upgrade

I was looking to upgrade my PC a bit as it seems to be getting a bit temperamental, old age me thinks. Anyway here are the parts I'm looking at:

I'm not building a super computer here so I'm just looking at the best bang for the buck. I will not spend more than $170. I'm not upgrading the gpu as it runs fine just the core components. Look good? Opinions?

Get a good motherboard like GIGABYTE GA-MA770-S3 /GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2H such that you could upgrade to quad core CPU later.

However, I personally prefer intel set-up
E2160 + GA-P31-S3G

By the way, GeIL RAM is fine.

+ 1 yeah go intel,brilliant prices and they overclock great.

So the E2160 will perform better? Honestly I know very little in the way of Intel processors as I have had a guilty habit of being an AMD fanboy.

The E2160 is pretty equal to the X2 4000 maybe alittle better. If you going to overclock the E2160 would be the better choice. If not the X2 4600 is about the same price as the E2160 and performs better at stock speeds, not overclocking. Really depends on what your going to do. But as far as boards drop the Biostar and get the Gigabyte GA-MA770-S3 or DS3

Also check out Corsair's XMS2 2GB DDR2-800 CL4 kit. $29 after rebates the last time I looked.
