I have a Gigabyte H61MA-D2V motherboard, with a 1155 socket for the processor i have a 1TB Hard drive 8GB of RAM, a AMD Radeon HD 6670 Graphics card, with a Arctic Freezer 7 PRO Rev.2 Heat sink which i purchased recently because i bought an i5 processor and installed it myself, i got the i5 processor of a friend for £50 what a bargain! Can't get better then this. It has 4 Cores. He saved me some money there, if i would of bought an i5 processor new in the shops would of cost me more then this, i upgraded from a celeron CPU. What other upgrades do you recommed?? as my friend says i may need a better Graphics card to play Battlefield 3 do you agree and will my Graphics card play Battlefield 3?? Have you any recommendations?? Thank you for any info!

What's the case? Looks nice.

Look into Radeon 7850 or 6950?
Also, please specify the exact model number for your i5 processor.

*Than, sorry I'm a grammar nazi.

Yeah you need a better graphics card, but you need a better PSU first most likely.

A nice upgrade would be a Corsair CX 600 and a 7850 if you have the money. There are cheaper options available though.

@swchoi89 The case there is a Galaxy 3, they're actually horrible cases, my friend has one. It's a pest to work in. No rounded edges either, easy to cut yourself!

H61MAD2V,

I'm gonna delete your image that have there. I would suggest using photobucket or another file hosting site that doesn't include spam type pictures with your image.

you should be able to play bf3 fine on a 6670, but if you want a good resolution and good settings, then Spirit is right, you'll want a new psu (can you take the side panel off and tell us the current one's brand and model please) and graphics card like the ones he suggested

Thanks for the advice but my friend did say the power supply is fine it is a 500w power supply. Do i need a new one then??

What brand is the power supply? That makes a lot of difference.

Just look at it like this. watts is like Engine displacement. You can get a Toyota truck with a 5.7 liter engine, but don't expect it to do the same work as a Chevy K3500 with a 5.7L 350 for example. The Amps and build quality is what you have to look it. Its like the horse power and engine block. don't expect a toyota to put out 500 HP at 5.7L for example. Same way as you should not expect a 500 watt no name PSU to do 41 amps on the 12 volt rail, and don't expect it to do it for an extended time if it can.
Does this explain make any sense?

On the Power supply the brand is Win Power+Plus

Yeah it's likely a very low quality power supply I'm afraid and thus not really up to the job.

What is a good quailty power supply that if i am on a low budget. You did say there are cheaper options.

Depends if you want to upgrade your GPU. The Corsair CX 500 is a great choice for most mid-range graphics cards (up to about a 7850), anything higher than a 7850 and you probably want the CX 600.

Any of the brands in my sig below are good.

For the 6670 you have now, a Corsair CX 430 would work, but it doesn't offer much headroom for upgrading.

Anything by Corsair or Antec would be the lower priced options. You can try an OCZ Modstream unit, but I personally can not recommend one based on my experiences. A ZT or ZX series from OCZ would be just as good as a corsair or Antec though.

Some thermaltake and Coolermaster supplies will work too.

All depends on how much you want to spend. give us a budget and we can find you a PSU that fits it.

corsair cx600 or cx500 are good and on the lower end, there are others too, just depends on the sales going on
