Upgraded to Windows 8 Issue

Hi all. I recently upgraded to windows 8 on the desktop computer that is in my signature. I paid the 40 dollars and then paid the 15 dollars to have the disk sent to my house.

Everything was going great until I installed the drivers for my video card and the drivers for my sound card. After I was asked to reboot, my computer became stuck in this loop. The windows 8 logo comes up and after that my monitor flashes DVI then the monitor screen changes color to black and then dvi comes up and it just does this over and over.

SO I THOUGHT I could boot into safe mode with an f8 command like I always do and found that does not work. So then I read online its a shift + f8 to get you into safe mode but neither of these options worked!

I am stuck, what should I do?

I am guessing this has something to do with the windows 8 64 bit OS and the 560 ti driver.

I had the exact same problem and I found out that this was caused by my video card drivers (my card is a gts 250). I was trying to install other driver releases but none of them work. In the end I installed the drivers for my 8400gs and I found out that they work with the gts 250 just fine. So, yeah... some video card's drivers don't exactly "agree" with windows 8. I would try some other driver releases for your video card and if none of them work you can always try doing what I did (though it's quite crazy :D)... also it might not be the video card drivers so do a little diagnosing and try to find out which drivers are causing the problem. Good luck :)
 
And also, I bet the shift+f8 method does work but it's extremely hard to get it to work. It took me 10 re-boots to get it to work and I had to spam on shift and f8 :D

I would do this but I did not receive the CD in the mail yet. I am sure there is a way I can legally get a windows professional iso I can run until I get the disk in the mail. There was an option to install to a USB, maybe I can log into my account at Microsoft and redownload.

One of the options with updating to windows 8 is that you do not need to put it to media.

I do have a windows 8 Enterprise Trial that I was using at work... could I use that disk for the repair?

okay I was able to put windows 8 install on a USB and I will reinstall the OS when I get home and possibly on a new hard drive.

Update :

I poped in my USB drive to do a reset , only thing that seemed to work. It takes 4 hours to reset the computer.(reset just means format and clean install) When I get home from work I will set a recovery point before I install the video driver and let you know if its my video card . For some reason the Microsoft certified driver worked but the Nvidia driver didn't... would it hurt my performance to just use the Microsoft driver?

Press Microsoft button on keyboard on desktop.
Type msconfig and click on Boot Tab
Under Boot Options tick Safe Boot.
Click on Apply.
Restart computer.

Thanks man. I couldn't get into windows to put that command in, I have reinstalled windows 8 and the same thing happened... but then I reinstalled with the Beta drivers and it worked. Now I can't get my ps3 controller to work when it used to work in windows 7 :confused:
