Upgrading a lappy

I was just wondering about what i should know before i attempt any mods or upgrades on a lappy. I currently have an hp dv2000. I'm not sure if upgrading voids the warranty; it probably does, but don't worry about that. I have modded and upgraded desktops before i was just wondering if there is anything different to know about laptops

a lot diffrent on the laptop...basically it's not worth doing and if your laptop is outdated so much that you want to upgrade it, just buy a new one....

Yes it would void the warrenty.. Lappy are hard too upgrade you can upgrade the memory and harddrive. But such as the chip is very hard. Make sure you know what you are doing.

i upgraded from a pentium m 1.7 to a centrino 2.0 in a dell inspiron 1300... just have fun with all those screws... and be careful! don't force anything open!

some laptops have an access panal on the bottom like they do for the RAM, HDD, and WIRELESS CARD... you don't always have to go inside to switch out a CPU... just check it out to see.
