Hi, im new to the forum nice to see you computer masters.

Im trying to fix my computer and trying to learn at the same time since i use it all the time but have no idea how it is really working.

The problem was my power would shut off randomly and timing would get shorter and shorter, so i changed my power.

After i did it, it would turn on for a minute and same thing happened again.

My guess was the motherboard so i bought ASUS M5 A97 r2.0 and cpu AMD FX6300

My original mobo was gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R

I have very little knowledge about upgrading mobo, if is there anything i should know please inform me thanks!!:D

Really depends on what your wanting to know. Since your changing from Intel to AMD, I would do a clean install of the OS. There are way of getting around it, but a clean would be best. Other then unhooking every thing from the motherboard, remove. Install the AMD processor in the new board, install the cooler if its a stock cooler. Make sure you have the standoffs under the board in the right places. Install the new board. Hook everything back up. Then do a clean OS install.
