Upgrading Acer Aspire 5672

Hey guys,
I've done a few things with desktops, built my own desktop...but I've never done anything with my laptop with regards to hardware. So please bare with me, as I am a noob. I have an Acer Aspire 5672 that I want to upgrade the RAM & Hard Drive.
Specs:

Specifically my computer:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115223

I'm having a hard time finding the correct RAM to upgrade with. Currently I have 1 GB (2x512mb) DDR2 533 SDRAM. I think the max upgradeable is 2GB (2x1GB). I am horrible at understanding RAM. It says that 533/667MHz is able to be used...Which one (533 or 667) is better?
Will this one work?

Or is it a good brand? Any better suggestions?

Also, I'm thinking about upgrading the Hard Drive. I'm sure it depends on the laptop model, but is this normally an easy procedure like it is in a desktop or is it really complicated? I'm thinking about this HDD:

I am curious about that drive because it says SATA-150...Are all SATA 150 or is there other number at the end of it that I should worry about? Also, I currently have a 5400 rpm, 100 GB HDD, will I see a decent increase in performance? Well, I know that's a lot, and thank you in advance.

Yes that ram will work. As for the hdd, the only way you would see a performance increase is if the hdd had a faster speed or more cache. Note: Replacing the hdd will result in you having to re-install windows.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if SATA-150 is compatible with my computer. The specs say SATA, so do I just keep with SATA? I notice that they specify SATA, SATA-150, SATA-300 (I think) on TigerDirect, but the best HDD with SATA is 160GB, 7200 RPM, 16 MB Cache...but not much of an upgrade in capacity to what I have already. But the SATA-150 is 200GB, 7200 RPM, 16 MB Cache. If I do go with the SATA, will it be much of a upgrade or just minor performance improvement?

I've reformatted my hard drive a number of times just because of all the crap I put on it. I'm not worried about that.

Yes sata-150 is compatible with your laptop. Sata-300 is faster but, I am not sure if they can be used on laptops. I am guessing your stock hdd is prob 8mb cache as manufactures usually skimp on the hdd's and put slow ones in. So any hdd with 16mb cache and 7200rpm would be much faster than your current hdd.

Just as a mention, the hitachi 7k200 is a great hard drive, and a lot of people that get alienware laptop's get the minimum hard drive and upgrade to that model.

edit: Yes, sata 300 can be used on my laptops. That's why newegg.com lists sata-300 in the laptop hard drive list.
