Upgrading bios

I have 2 Upgrade my bios when i start my computer it tells me unknown cpu and thats its over heating then tells me 2 upgrade but the thing is i dont know how 2 upgrade the Bios i have a P5K premium wifi ap MB and the cpu i have is intel core 2 quad q9400 2.66ghz
 
Flashing is risky business. Never the less its sometime needed. goto the motherboard manufacture with model and look up the flash. I suggest reading who will benefit from the flash. its usually associated with hardware. sometime it makes it faster. sometime it fixes issues. if its not going to fix your problem i would not do it. it will shut you down if something goes wrong.
 
hit alt + f2 during POST to bring up the ezflash utility. it should be included with your motherboard. put the latest version of the BIOS for your motherboard (get it from the link mep posted) on a thumb drive, floppy, whatever you have available, rename the file for the bios to something simple and recognizable. once in the ezflash screen, find your file and hit enter. it will ask you to hit enter a couple of times and once you do it should begin the process right away. all in all takes about 3 minutes from start to finish. it is very very simple, just make sure you have the right BIOS for your motherboard and have the latest version
