Upgrading Computer

Hey guys, i'm new here so i'm gonna thank you for your help in advance!

Just need alittle advice please. My current spec is at the bottom.

So, i'm about to upgrade my computer with a new monitor. I'm thinking...

I'm wanting to keep my current monitor so i can do a dual display. The one i have atm is some old lcd i think 17 inch thing. I take some high res photos with my dslr so i need a better screen for editing.

I also do alot of video editing (will be at uni doing digital media production, though will prob get a laptop but will use the moniter with that, any laptop recommendations will also be appreciated).

Also thinking of upgrading my graphics cards, will prob want to do some gaming (mainly wow tbh, getting between 20-60fps depending atm). Will want this to work with dual display (not sure if i can keep one of what i have in or what, not sure how that works.)

Any advice on this will be greatly appreciated, also if you think i should invest my money in other places please say. Don't really want to spend more than £100 on a graphics card.

Thanks for the reply have been looking into those suggestions. Will prob get that monitor instead. Will the backlit version show much difference?
 
Does anyone know if that screen will be ok to use with a laptop aswell? Will be needing one when i go to uni and will want to connect a second monitor aswell.
 
I don't see why not, as long as it has the proper connectors. Even if it doesn't, adapters are cheap.



I'd ditch that PSU, by the way. Win Power is...fail. It's labeled as a 750W, but 300 of that comes from the +5V and +3.3V rails. The +12V rails are weak. You won't get anywhere near 750W out of that system. 400W is probably a better estimate...maybe 450W. Your system probably uses a bit less than 300W, but still...best to play it safe.

But I don't think he would use more than 400W at full load. I think that PSU could hold the place.
 
Decided on that screen the benq g2222hdl and will prob go with the gtx460 1gb, looked around and seemed like the extra money would be worth it. Thanks so much for all your help.
