upgrading cpu/mb should i upgrade GPU

Hey guys, my current CPU and Motherboard is now 3 years old and im up to my usual upgrade cycle however I am unsure weather or not I should upgrade my GPU as well. I currently run a GTX 1080 which still performs very well even if its a few gnerations old now. My primary use for my pc is Gaming however I still only game at 1080p. In Australia a RTX 3070 will set me back around $800 and im not sure its worth the money for 1080p gaming. I mainly play Escape from Tarkov and gat 90+ fps without issue, also play cyberpunk at very happy frame rates.
All my old hardware goes to upgrading my childrens PC so my choice is I upgrade my GPU and give them my GTX 1080 or spend a smaller amount, around $300 on a GPU for my kids computer and continue to use my 1080. I would apreciate your thoughts on the matter.
Cheers

1080 should be alright for a while longer, I feel like cheaping out would be a self-limiting stopgap personally. Maybe a 3060Ti? Now might be a decent opportunity to pick up a used 1070 or 1080 for them. Less expensive and you can roll the savings into the 4k series cards and also resell the 1080s. Then you effectively only take a $30-50 hit for having a GPU for a year depending on what you can net price wise.
