upgrading cpu, out of the box..

if i were to want to install a 2.2g processor in the laptop i was going to buy, what would be involved, seeing as i have never worked on a laptop before.

would it be worth it, what would it to do to the bios and xp, and will it be a big enough jump in performance to justify a $240 purchase? seeing as it's only an $80 upgrade to the 2.0g model from ibuypower..
 
i think you rather upgrade from $80. if i am right the one for 80 bucks is dual core and the one for $240 is not dual core. so if u had dual core you see more performance then the 2.2 ghz one
