Upgrading for Vista to W7

If this has been asked, sorry. I did a quick scan and didn't see it, if I missed it sorry.

Is it much trouble to update from Vista to W7. Windows automatice update gives me the option to update to W7. And, as much as I dislike Vista, I would like to.

I am not a computer nerd, but not a whiz either. I would say my computer skills are moderate.

Upgrading from Vista to Win7 is really simple. I've done it several times without any hitches. Some people on here will recommend backing everything up, reformatting and installing a fresh OS, but if you aren't comfortable doing it that way, just letting it install on it's own will work fine. The upgrade is well worth the short amount of your time it will take.

Just buy a Win7 upgrade disk, pop it in and follow the prompts.

I would recommend you backup all your data and do a clean windows 7 install. Doing an upgrade is a messy process which is not worth the hassle. You will get much better result from a clean install.

Just incase you need help to do a clean install you can follow this guide : How to Install Windows 7

You could just slam in a windows 7 disk and you are good. Open the cd in vista and u should have the option of upgrade to 7
