Upgrading graphics card...not sure about connecting it

Hi there,

I'm upgrading my graphics card from 128MB ATI Radeon X300 to 'Sapphire X1950Pro 256MB 256bit GDDR3 Dual DVI TVO PCI-E'

As i have a Dell Dimension 5100 computer, i have been told i will definately need a 'PCI Express 6-Pin to 4-Pin Power Adaptor' and maybe a '"Y" Power Splitter'

I have opened my case and found only one spare 4 pin molex which is cased in rubber and therefore will apparently need the Y spiltter as well as the 6 - 4 pin adapter.

As my computer knowledge isn't the best, i took some screenshots of the case.

I think that picture DSCN1810 shows this spare connection however this is coming from the back of the CD Drive. Is this correct. Also how does the 6-4 pin adapter, Y power splitter and graphics card fit together??

Usually cards come with those adapters for these such occasions unless you buy a cheap brand or it's OEM.....

You may, however, need to buy a new PSU to adequately power the new video card; my guess is it at least 500W with good 12v amperage.......
