I am wanting to upgrade my PC, it is has a 128MB & 32MB in a Dual Dimm SDRAM. Can i literally take out the old memory cards and put in for example 2x512MB or 2x256?

Also does it matter who the manufacturer is and do i need to know anything else when buying?

You can do that if your motherboard supports the new DIMM sidzes. Since you mention 32MB DIMM you have got a first gen DDR board so accepring 512MB modules might be a bit difficult.

first-gen = first generation = one of the first boards out there that had DDR support
:)

How do you know that he has a DDR board just from him mentioning a 32Mb chip. It could be an older DIMM (non-DDR) board that happens to have a 32Mb chip in it. If you post you're mobo (name and type) we would be able to provide you with more info.

i have 4 256MB DDR PC2700 ram sticks for sale... if you want to upgrade your memory... 25 each... just in case
