Upgrading Monitor to accommodate Video card upgrade?

Just ordered a NVidia GeForce 6600GT for my new computer. Tech specs says it outputs 2048 x 1536 max resolution. Will my 1280 x 1024 monitor be a performance 'bottleneck' - limiting the quality of the video card?

It wont limit performance just the max resoloution you will be able to use is 1280X1024. This has a effect on visual image but 1280X1024 is preety good. Most games the max option is 1600X1200. You wont be able to use that option. You can still get what I consider good visual image from 1280X1024. I personally play all my games at 1280X1024.
