Upgrading motherboard

I have a Dell Dimension E521 and I am thinking of upgrading the motherboard to allow me to fit a 2 slot graphics card. I saw on the internet the ASUS NCCH-DL Dual Xeon/875P/64Bit/FSB800/GBE/ATX and was wondering if it will allow me more slots for a sound card, graphics card, and the cooler and if the actuall motherboard can fit in the tower. Please send me a private message if not post, thanks...

That motherboard is for dual Xeon processor and AFAIK Xeon processors are for servers. So its gonna be too big for your Dell. And also, companies like Dell and HP usually uses BTX form of case for their desktop. So some of the parts that you can buy from newegg or tigerdirect may not fit in the your Dell case.

Unless the motherboard is BTX(which you typed ATX so I assume not) it WILL NOT work in that case. Besides, the case would still limit you to upgrading video cards that occupy more than one PCI slot.

A new motherboard WILL NOT give you more room for expansions if you're limited by your case. Even if you were to get a new BTX board for that system, I doubt you'd find one with any more slots

Ok, well heres the deal. I was planning on buying a 'full tower case' that i can stick everything in and have more than enough room to customize the computer. I was then going to upgrade the powersupply (I know that it is compatible), then my motherboard (which has a few slots/sockets for me to put everything in). With that i will find a compatible motherboard (I know what to look for now thanks to you guys for the help) and then I will upgrade the graphics card to somthing that is compatible with the motherboard.

All I need to know now is would that all work.

P.S, sorry for all the trouble I have just started trying to work-out how to build computers and I'm 14 so...

Thanks for the help.
